And that you shall worship Me alone? This is the right path.
wa ani’budoonee; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem
And that you shall worship Me alone? This is the right path.
wa ani’budoonee; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem
He has misled multitudes of you. Did you not possess any understanding?
wa laqad adalla minkum jibillan kaseeraa; afalam takoonoo ta’qiloon
This is the Hell that was promised for you.
haazihee Jahannamul latee kuntum too’adoon
Today you will burn in it, as a consequence of your disbelief.
islawhal Yawma bimaa kuntum takfuroon
On that day we will seal their mouths; their hands and feet will bear witness to everything they had done.
al-Yawma nakhtimu ‘alaaa afwaahihim wa tukallimunaaa aideehim wa tashhadu arjuluhum bimaa kaanoo yaksiboon
If we will, we can veil their eyes and, consequently, when they seek the path, they will not see.
wa law nashaaa’u lata masna ‘alaaa aiyunihim fasta baqus-siraata fa-annaa yubsiroon
If we will, we can freeze them in place; thus, they can neither move forward, nor go back.
wa law nashaaa’u lamasakhnaahum ‘alaa makaanatihim famas-tataa’oo mudiyyanw-wa laa yarji’oon
Whomever we permit to live for a long time, we revert him to weakness. Do they not understand?
wa man nu ‘ammirhu nunakkishu fil-khalq; afalaa ya’qiloon
What we taught him (the messenger) was not poetry, nor is he (a poet). This is but a formidable proof,* and a profound Quran.
wa maa ‘allamnaahush shi’ra wa maa yambaghee lah; in huwa illaa zikrunw-wa Qur-aanum mubeen
*36:69 The word “Zikr” refers frequently to the Quran’s great mathematical code, which is certainly not literary, nor poetry. Please check out 38:1,8; 15:6,9; 16:44; 21:2, 24; 26:5; & 36:11.
