Quran chapter: Chapter 102: Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

You remain preoccupied with hoarding.

أَلهىٰكُمُ التَّكاثُرُ

al haaku mut takathur

Until you go to the graves.

حَتّىٰ زُرتُمُ المَقابِرَ

hatta zurtumul-maqaabir

Indeed, you will find out.

كَلّا سَوفَ تَعلَمونَ

kalla sawfa ta’lamoon

Most assuredly, you will find out.

ثُمَّ كَلّا سَوفَ تَعلَمونَ

thumma kalla sawfa ta’lamoon

If only you could find out for certain.

كَلّا لَو تَعلَمونَ عِلمَ اليَقينِ

kalla law ta’lamoona ‘ilmal yaqeen

You would envision Hell.

لَتَرَوُنَّ الجَحيمَ

latara-wun nal jaheem

Then you would see it with the eye of certainty.

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّها عَينَ اليَقينِ

thumma latara wunnaha ‘ainal yaqeen

Then you will be questioned, on that day, about the blessings you had enjoyed.

ثُمَّ لَتُسـَٔلُنَّ يَومَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعيمِ

thumma latus alunna yauma-izin ‘anin na’eem
