Quran chapter: Chapter 34: Sheba (Saba’)

(The Objective: Do We Believe in the Hereafter?*)

He never had any power over them. But we thus distinguish those who believe in the Hereafter from those who are doubtful about it.* Your Lord is in full control of all things.

وَما كانَ لَهُ عَلَيهِم مِن سُلطٰنٍ إِلّا لِنَعلَمَ مَن يُؤمِنُ بِالـٔاخِرَةِ مِمَّن هُوَ مِنها فى شَكٍّ وَرَبُّكَ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَىءٍ حَفيظٌ

wa maa kaana lahoo ‘alaihim min sultaanin illaa lina’lama mai yu minu bil Aakhirati mimman huwa minhaa fee shakk; wa Rabbuka ‘alaa kulli shai’in Hafeez

*34:21 The criteria that inform us whether or not we believe in the Hereafter are in 6:113, 17:45, & 39:45. These three criteria bring out our true convictions, regardless of our oral statements.

Say, “Implore the idols you have set up beside God. They do not possess as much as a single atom in the heavens, or the earth. They possess no partnership therein, nor does He permit them to be His assistants.”

قُلِ ادعُوا الَّذينَ زَعَمتُم مِن دونِ اللَّهِ لا يَملِكونَ مِثقالَ ذَرَّةٍ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَلا فِى الأَرضِ وَما لَهُم فيهِما مِن شِركٍ وَما لَهُ مِنهُم مِن ظَهيرٍ

qulid ‘ul lazeena za’amtum min doonil laahi laa yamlikoona misqaala zarratin fissamaawaati wa laa fil ardi wa maa lahum feehimaa min shirkinw wa maa lahoo minhum min zaheer

(No Intercession)

Intercession with Him will be in vain, unless it coincides with His will. When their minds are finally settled down, and they ask, “What did your Lord say,” they will say, “The truth.” He is the Most High, the Most Great.

وَلا تَنفَعُ الشَّفٰعَةُ عِندَهُ إِلّا لِمَن أَذِنَ لَهُ حَتّىٰ إِذا فُزِّعَ عَن قُلوبِهِم قالوا ماذا قالَ رَبُّكُم قالُوا الحَقَّ وَهُوَ العَلِىُّ الكَبيرُ

wa laa tanfa’ush shafaa’atu ‘indahooo illaa liman azina lah; hattaaa izaa fuzzi’a ‘an quloobihim qaaloo maazaa qaala Rabbukum; qaalul haqq, wa Huwal ‘Aliyul Kabeer

Say, “Who provides for you, from the heavens and the earth?” Say, “God,” and “Either we or you are guided, or have gone far astray.”

قُل مَن يَرزُقُكُم مِنَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ قُلِ اللَّهُ وَإِنّا أَو إِيّاكُم لَعَلىٰ هُدًى أَو فى ضَلٰلٍ مُبينٍ

qul mai yarzuqukum minas samaawaati wal ardi qulil laahu wa innaaa aw iyyaakum la’alaa hudan aw fee dalaalim mubeen

Say, “You are not responsible for our crimes, nor are we responsible for what you do.”

قُل لا تُسـَٔلونَ عَمّا أَجرَمنا وَلا نُسـَٔلُ عَمّا تَعمَلونَ

qul laa tus’aloona ‘ammaaa ajramnaa wa laa nus’alu ‘ammaa ta’maloon

Say, “Our Lord will gather us all together before Him, then He will judge between us equitably. He is the Judge, the Omniscient.”

قُل يَجمَعُ بَينَنا رَبُّنا ثُمَّ يَفتَحُ بَينَنا بِالحَقِّ وَهُوَ الفَتّاحُ العَليمُ

qul yajma’u bainanaa Rabbunaa summa yaftahu bainanaa bilhaqq; wa Huwal Fattaahul ‘Aleem

Say, “Show me the idols you have set up as partners with Him!” Say, “No; He is the one God, the Almighty, Most Wise.”

قُل أَرونِىَ الَّذينَ أَلحَقتُم بِهِ شُرَكاءَ كَلّا بَل هُوَ اللَّهُ العَزيزُ الحَكيمُ

qul arooniyal lazeena alhaqtum bihee shurakaaa’a kallaa; bal Huwal Laahul ‘Azeezul Hakeem

(God’s Messenger of the Covenant)

We have sent you (O Rashad)* to all the people, a bearer of good news, as well as a warner, but most people do not know.

وَما أَرسَلنٰكَ إِلّا كافَّةً لِلنّاسِ بَشيرًا وَنَذيرًا وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَ النّاسِ لا يَعلَمونَ

wa maaa arsalnaaka illaa kaaffatal linnaasi basheeranw wa nazeeranw wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa ya’lamoon

*34:28 As detailed in Appendix 2, the name of this messenger is mathematically coded into the Quran as “Rashad Khalifa.” By adding the numerical value of the name “Rashad” (505), plus the numerical value of the name “Khalifa” (725), plus the number of the sura (34), plus the number of the verse (28), we obtain a total that conforms with the Quran’s 19-based mathematical miracle, which was unveiled through Rashad Khalifa. (505+725+34+28=1292=19×68). More information is given in 5:19 and its footnote.

They challenge, “When will this promise come to pass, if you are truthful?”

وَيَقولونَ مَتىٰ هٰذَا الوَعدُ إِن كُنتُم صٰدِقينَ

wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa’du in kuntum saadiqeen

Say, “You have a specific time, on a specific day, that you cannot delay by one hour, nor advance.”

قُل لَكُم ميعادُ يَومٍ لا تَستَـٔخِرونَ عَنهُ ساعَةً وَلا تَستَقدِمونَ

qul lakum mee’aadu Yawmil laa tasta’khiroona ‘anhu saa’atanw wa laa tastaqdimoon
