(The Contact Prayer Existed Before Muhammad*)
What prevented the acceptance of their spending is that they disbelieved in God and His messenger, and when they observed the Contact Prayers (Salat),* they observed them lazily, and when they gave to charity, they did so grudgingly.
وَما مَنَعَهُم أَن تُقبَلَ مِنهُم نَفَقٰتُهُم إِلّا أَنَّهُم كَفَروا بِاللَّهِ وَبِرَسولِهِ وَلا يَأتونَ الصَّلوٰةَ إِلّا وَهُم كُسالىٰ وَلا يُنفِقونَ إِلّا وَهُم كٰرِهونَ
wa maa mana’ahum ‘an tuqbala minhum nafaqaatuhum illaaa annahum kafaroo billaahi wa bi Rasoolihee wa laa ya’toonas Salaata illaa wa hum kusaalaa wa laa yunfiqoona illaa wa hum kaarihoon
*9:54 This is another proof that the Contact Prayers (Salat) existed before the Quran, and were handed down from Abraham (see 21:73). Also, it stumps those who challenge God’s assertion that the Quran is complete and fully detailed when they ask, “Where can we find the details of the Contact Prayers in the Quran” (6:19, 38, 114).
