Even if we sent down [to you]* a physical book, written on paper, and they touched it with their hands, those who disbelieved would have said, “This is no more than clever magic.”
وَلَو نَزَّلنا عَلَيكَ كِتٰبًا فى قِرطاسٍ فَلَمَسوهُ بِأَيديهِم لَقالَ الَّذينَ كَفَروا إِن هٰذا إِلّا سِحرٌ مُبينٌ
wa law nazzalnaa ‘alaika Kitaaban fee qirtaasin falamasoohu bi aideehim laqaalal lazeena kafarooo in haazaaa illaa sihrum mubeen
*6:7 The Arabic word “alayka”, [to you], occurs in the Arabic text of the above verse and was translated as “to them”.
