Quran chapter: Chapter 88: Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

In it, no nonsense is heard.

لا تَسمَعُ فيها لٰغِيَةً

laa tasma’u feehaa laaghiyah

In it, a spring flows.

فيها عَينٌ جارِيَةٌ

feehaa ‘aynun jaariyah

In it, there are luxurious furnishings.

فيها سُرُرٌ مَرفوعَةٌ

feehaa sururum marfoo’ah

And drinks made available.

وَأَكوابٌ مَوضوعَةٌ

wa akwaabum mawzoo’ah

And pitchers in rows.

وَنَمارِقُ مَصفوفَةٌ

wa namaariqu masfoofah

And carpets throughout.

وَزَرابِىُّ مَبثوثَةٌ

wa zaraabiyyu mabsoosah

Why do they not reflect on the camels and how they are created?

أَفَلا يَنظُرونَ إِلَى الإِبِلِ كَيفَ خُلِقَت

afalaa yanzuroona ilalibili kaifa khuliqat

And the sky and how it is raised.

وَإِلَى السَّماءِ كَيفَ رُفِعَت

wa ilas samaaa’i kaifa rufi’at

And the mountains and how they are constructed.

وَإِلَى الجِبالِ كَيفَ نُصِبَت

wa ilal jibaali kaifa nusibat

And the earth and how it is built.

وَإِلَى الأَرضِ كَيفَ سُطِحَت

wa ilal ardi kaifa sutihat
