Quran chapter: Chapter 77: Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Then we placed it in a well-protected repository.

فَجَعَلنٰهُ فى قَرارٍ مَكينٍ

faja’alnaahu fee qaraarim makeen

For a specific period.

إِلىٰ قَدَرٍ مَعلومٍ

illaa qadrim ma’loom

We measured it precisely.* We are the best designers.

فَقَدَرنا فَنِعمَ القٰدِرونَ

faqadarnaa fani’mal qaadiroon

*77:20-23 According to Langman’s Medical Embryology, by T. W. Sadler (Fifth Edition, Page 88): “In general the length of pregnancy for a full term fetus is 266 days or 38 weeks after fertilization.” Both 266 and 38 are multiples of 19 (Appendix 1).

Woe on that day to the rejectors.

وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ

wailuny yawma ‘izil lilmukazzibeen

Did we not make the earth an abode?

أَلَم نَجعَلِ الأَرضَ كِفاتًا

alam naj’alil arda kifaataa

For the living and the dead?

أَحياءً وَأَموٰتًا

ahyaaa’anw wa amwaataa

We placed on it high mountains, and provided you with fresh water to drink.

وَجَعَلنا فيها رَوٰسِىَ شٰمِخٰتٍ وَأَسقَينٰكُم ماءً فُراتًا

wa ja’alnaa feehaa rawaasiya shaamikhaatinw wa asqainaakum maaa’an furaataa

Woe on that day to the rejectors.

وَيلٌ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُكَذِّبينَ

wailuny yawma ‘izil lilmukazzibeen

Go to what you used to disbelieve in.

انطَلِقوا إِلىٰ ما كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبونَ

intaliqooo ilaa maa kuntum bihee tukazziboon

Go to a shade of three different densities.

انطَلِقوا إِلىٰ ظِلٍّ ذى ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍ

intaliqooo ilaa zillin zee salaasi shu’ab
