When they see them, the guilty will wish he could give his own children as ransom, to spare him the retribution of that day.
يُبَصَّرونَهُم يَوَدُّ المُجرِمُ لَو يَفتَدى مِن عَذابِ يَومِئِذٍ بِبَنيهِ
yubassaroonahum; ya waddul mujrimu law yaftadee min ‘azaabi yawma’izim bibaneeh
Even his whole tribe that raised him.
وَفَصيلَتِهِ الَّتى تُـٔويهِ
wa faseelathil latee tu’weeh
Even all the people on earth, if it would save him.
وَمَن فِى الأَرضِ جَميعًا ثُمَّ يُنجيهِ
wa man fil ardi jamee’an summa yunjeeh
It calls on those who turned away.
تَدعوا مَن أَدبَرَ وَتَوَلّىٰ
tad’oo man adbara wa tawallaa
Indeed, the human being is anxious.
إِنَّ الإِنسٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلوعًا
innal insaana khuliqa haloo’aa
If touched by adversity, despondent.
إِذا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزوعًا
izaa massahush sharru jazoo’aa
