Quran chapter: Chapter 56: The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe’ah)

When the inevitable comes to pass.

إِذا وَقَعَتِ الواقِعَةُ

izaa waqa’atil waaqi’ah

Nothing can stop it from happening.

لَيسَ لِوَقعَتِها كاذِبَةٌ

laisa liwaq’atihaa kaazibah

It will lower some, and raise others.

خافِضَةٌ رافِعَةٌ

khafidatur raafi’ah

The earth will be shaken up.

إِذا رُجَّتِ الأَرضُ رَجًّا

izaa rujjatil ardu rajjaa

The mountains will be wiped out.

وَبُسَّتِ الجِبالُ بَسًّا

wa bussatil jibaalu bassaa

As if they never existed.

فَكانَت هَباءً مُنبَثًّا

fakaanat habaaa’am mumbassaa

You will be stratified into three kinds.

وَكُنتُم أَزوٰجًا ثَلٰثَةً

wa kuntum azwaajan salaasah

Those who deserved bliss will be in bliss.

فَأَصحٰبُ المَيمَنَةِ ما أَصحٰبُ المَيمَنَةِ

fa as haabul maimanati maaa as haabul maimanah

Those who deserved misery will be in misery.

وَأَصحٰبُ المَشـَٔمَةِ ما أَصحٰبُ المَشـَٔمَةِ

wa as haabul mash’amati maaa as haabul mash’amah

Then there is the elite of the elite.

وَالسّٰبِقونَ السّٰبِقونَ

wassaabiqoonas saabiqoon
