(The First Murder*)
Recite for them the true history of Adam’s two sons. They made an offering, and it was accepted from one of them, but not from the other. He said, “I will surely kill you.” He said, “God accepts only from the righteous.
وَاتلُ عَلَيهِم نَبَأَ ابنَى ءادَمَ بِالحَقِّ إِذ قَرَّبا قُربانًا فَتُقُبِّلَ مِن أَحَدِهِما وَلَم يُتَقَبَّل مِنَ الـٔاخَرِ قالَ لَأَقتُلَنَّكَ قالَ إِنَّما يَتَقَبَّلُ اللَّهُ مِنَ المُتَّقينَ
watlu ‘alaihim naba abnai Aadama bilhaqq; iz qarrabaa qurbaanan fatuqubbila min ahadihimaa wa lam yutaqabbal minal aakhari qaala la aqtulannnaka qaala innamaa yataqabbalul laahu minal muttaqeen
*5:27-31 The names of the two sons involved in this first murder are not relevant. But they are given in the Bible as Abel and Cain (Genesis 4:2-9).
