(The Real Reason)
In fact, they have disbelieved in the Hour (Day of Resurrection), and we have prepared for those who disbelieve in the Hour a flaming Hell.
بَل كَذَّبوا بِالسّاعَةِ وَأَعتَدنا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِالسّاعَةِ سَعيرًا
bal kazzaboo bis Saa’ati wa a’tadnaa liman kazzaba bis Saa’ati sa’eeraa
(Retribution for the Disbelievers)
When it sees them from afar, they will hear its rage and fuming.
إِذا رَأَتهُم مِن مَكانٍ بَعيدٍ سَمِعوا لَها تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفيرًا
izaa ra’at hum min makaanin ba’eedin sami’oo lahaa taghaiyuzanw wa zafeeraa
And when they are thrown into it, through a narrow place, all shackled, they will declare their remorse.
وَإِذا أُلقوا مِنها مَكانًا ضَيِّقًا مُقَرَّنينَ دَعَوا هُنالِكَ ثُبورًا
wa izaaa ulqoo minhaa makaanan daiyiqam muqar raneena da’aw hunaalika thuboora
You will not declare just a single remorse, on that day; you will suffer through a great number of remorses.
لا تَدعُوا اليَومَ ثُبورًا وٰحِدًا وَادعوا ثُبورًا كَثيرًا
laa tad’ul yawma thubooranw waahidanw wad’oo thubooran kaseeraa
(Reward for the Righteous)
Say, “Is this better or the eternal Paradise that is promised for the righteous? It is their well deserved reward; a well deserved destiny.”
قُل أَذٰلِكَ خَيرٌ أَم جَنَّةُ الخُلدِ الَّتى وُعِدَ المُتَّقونَ كانَت لَهُم جَزاءً وَمَصيرًا
qul azaalika khairun am Jannatul khuldil latee wu’idal muttaqoon; kaanat lahum jazaaa’anw wa maseeraa
They get anything they wish therein, forever. This is your Lord’s irrevocable promise.
لَهُم فيها ما يَشاءونَ خٰلِدينَ كانَ عَلىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعدًا مَسـٔولًا
lahum feehaa maa yashaaa’oona khaalideen; kaana ‘alaa Rabbika wa’dan mas’oolaa
On the day when He summons them, together with the idols they had set up beside God, He will say, “Have you misled these servants of Mine, or did they go astray on their own?”
وَيَومَ يَحشُرُهُم وَما يَعبُدونَ مِن دونِ اللَّهِ فَيَقولُ ءَأَنتُم أَضلَلتُم عِبادى هٰؤُلاءِ أَم هُم ضَلُّوا السَّبيلَ
wa Yawma yahshuruhum wa maa ya’budoona min doonil laahi fa yaqoolu ‘a-antum adlaltum ‘ibaadee haaa’ulaaa’i am hum dallus sabeel
They will say, “Be You glorified, it was not right for us to set up any lords beside You. But You allowed them to enjoy, together with their parents. Consequently, they disregarded the message and thus became wicked people.”
قالوا سُبحٰنَكَ ما كانَ يَنبَغى لَنا أَن نَتَّخِذَ مِن دونِكَ مِن أَولِياءَ وَلٰكِن مَتَّعتَهُم وَءاباءَهُم حَتّىٰ نَسُوا الذِّكرَ وَكانوا قَومًا بورًا
qaaloo Subhaanaka maa kaana yanbaghee lanaaa an nattakhiza min doonika min awliyaaa’a wa laakin matta’tahum wa aabaaa’ahum hattaa nasooz zikra wa kaanoo qawman booraa
They have disbelieved in the message you have given them, and, consequently, you can neither protect them from the retribution they have incurred, nor can you help them in any way. Anyone among you who commits evil, we will commit him to severe retribution.
فَقَد كَذَّبوكُم بِما تَقولونَ فَما تَستَطيعونَ صَرفًا وَلا نَصرًا وَمَن يَظلِم مِنكُم نُذِقهُ عَذابًا كَبيرًا
faqad kazzabookum bimaa taqooloona famaa tastatee’oona sarfanw wa laa nasraa; wa many yazlim minkum nuziqhu ‘azaaban kabeeraa
(Messengers Are Just Human Beings)
We did not send any messengers before you who did not eat food and walk in the markets. We thus test you by each other; will you steadfastly persevere? Your Lord is Seer.
وَما أَرسَلنا قَبلَكَ مِنَ المُرسَلينَ إِلّا إِنَّهُم لَيَأكُلونَ الطَّعامَ وَيَمشونَ فِى الأَسواقِ وَجَعَلنا بَعضَكُم لِبَعضٍ فِتنَةً أَتَصبِرونَ وَكانَ رَبُّكَ بَصيرًا
wa maaa arsalnaa qablaka minal mursaleena illaaa innahum la ya’kuloonat ta’aama wa yamshoona fil aswaaq; wa ja’alnaa ba’dakum liba’din fitnatan atasbiroon; wa kaana Rabbuka Baseera
