Ahmad Wehbe’s official website has received a completely different look after months of work
HÖGANÄS, SWEDEN—Mars 21, 2022—The website has gotten an upgrade that makes the website more stylized—each section has its own look which makes it much easier for users to better recognize what type of content they are viewing, whether it is a video game, novel, tutorial or a blog post. More changes are planned that will slowly roll out over the next couple of months.
ahmadwehbe.com is the official website of the author Ahmad Wehbe where he lists and sells some of his works, such as novels and video games. But it is also a place where he shares tutorials and personal blog posts about various topics.
This major update came after a decision by Ahmad Wehbe to create a proper website that represents him and his work to the fullest. The old website had a basic design and was locked into one style due to technical limitations—this major upgrade is more flexible and will allow for more design choices. The update comes after five months of intensive work that forced Ahmad Wehbe to place all his other projects on hold, including his upcoming novel The Young Teacher and video game Enduring Dreamers™: Freya. Ahmad Wehbe adds: “Being an indie author or indie game developer, or really indie–anything is more than a full-time job, you work 12-14 hours a day including weekends and even then it’s not enough, you have to prioritize your time correctly or else you’ll remain stuck in the mud, stomping forever, this is why I chose to prioritize my website, I couldn’t see myself advertising a product while my own home was a mess, people would come to the website and be immediately turned off by how basic it looked.”
The concept behind the new design is a mix of the old–type–of–designs from the early 2000 but mixed with some modern solutions and a personal style. “If you look at the old Nintendo website and compare it with their modern website of today you will notice there was a charm, a uniqueness, that has long since disappeared in the name of modernism.” said Ahmad Wehbe, he continues: “I had two choices; go for a clean and boring modern design like everybody else, or do it my own way—I went with the latter because most people don’t visit author websites anyways, except fans, so the decision was simple, design a website for the fans, not for any algorithm or search engines that so many websites are competing for—that’s not what websites are meant for anyways!”
